ConnectiCon 2026: Another Great Event

Signing up for media to the ConnectiCon was a very good decision to make. Last year, I had a blast, came back with a bunch of interesting portraits, and also made a lot of interesting connections.

Thinking that I had to sign up for badges for each day, I asked for two badges, and as it turns out, they gave me media badges for two people. So, knowing some other photographers, I reached out to the one that gets involved the most in this type of concepts.

My choice was Mason Media Photography, who I had met last year during the Connecticut Slam.

I went three out of the four days, and had the chance to reconnect with some people I had met last year, and meet some new cosplayers, whose portraits I also took.

Mason went two out of the three days, on the last day, we had the chance to meet and of course take a selfie with our “prop weapons”… nothing but our cameras, an extension of who we are.

He had a lot of fun, and he took some really amazing photos. I realized that he was without question my best choice to give the extra badge to. Even though he only went there two days, he made the absolute best of it.

These are some of the photos he took on Saturday alone. He did an excellent job!

As you can see, he focused on intimate photos, capturing the energy of the cosplayers. He made sure that close-ups were vibrant and told a story. Again, I am very happy to have given him the badge.

I got to work on a couple of mini-sessions with Rose, a very creative and smart young woman who cosplayed as Moondrop on the last day. We had contacted before through Instagram, after some people had reposted some of the images I had taken of them.

The ConnectiCon has become one of my favorite things to look forward to every year. I have seen how people basically enjoy their community and how they compliment each other’s costumes.

There were a couple of funny moments I managed to capture on camera, like the Luigi debacle that happened right before my eyes.

I also enjoyed the only time I witness a “fight” in the ring, which was won by a very athletic and intrepid Spiderman.

In essence, I believe I am ready for the next ConnectiCon, and I hope to get badges for myself and Mason, and see what we both can come up with. I also hope to connect with more cosplayers, and I will definitely be working with some of them after this CTCon.
