Greetings, friends!
Those of you who have subscribed to my website ReyCD PHOTOS and have been interacting with my posts, will see other new things aside from the posts I have made.
September and October found me having to go back to school, but I managed to secure a TFP session on the last day of August with Christine Bakes. I met Christine during the Connecticut Slam, and although we didn’t work together that day, we started talking about doing a one-on-one Time for Photos session.

September also saw the end of the Hartford Yard Goats regular season, my first experience covering a US professional team throughout the year, while also attending both the opening night and the team’s home adieu.

I am back to teaching now, but I will continue to take photos, get involved in other projects through weekends, and of course delivering this Newsletter to you all.

Yet, I had a couple of great opportunities. I was approved for the Fashion Week Connecticut, and although I was able to attend for only one day, I am happy about that opportunity. I also photographed the Mum-A-Thon in Bristol (with my school having a leading role), and had a great time at the Halloween Parade in Collinsville, an experience I am angry I didn’t enjoy before.

• The Hartford Yard Goats regular season was over in September, and although the Chivos didn’t make it to the postseason, I believe the campaign was special for me in many aspects. I organized the first ever Cuban Night in Yard Goats baseball history, and I am more than happy about it. You all saw something about it (if you read my last newsletter or follow the blog posts).

• School is back, which means I am taking more time and effort to keep this newsletter alive than I would normally do in the summer. As a teacher, my obligations will collide with my photographic endeavors more than once, but loving the idea of helping the upcoming generation of Americans be better as human beings and professionals, I have no complaints whatsoever.

• The Fashion Week Connecticut took place in a very difficult moment for me professionally, as it jibed with the parent-teacher conferences at my school. However, I made a huge effort to be there for at least one event. I was happy to be part of that, mainly because it is the first time I was ever able to photograph a fashion show in the US, even though I made the executive decision to stay out of the formal and normal photographers angles and booth.

• Even though the CT Hispanic Watch has been slow (for reasons more related to the comfort of my subjects), I have been talking to possible subjects and trying to keep it going. It is hard to promote immigrants (especially Hispanic immigrants) in the era we are living now in the United States. However, as someone who comes from the worst oppression you can think of (which is communism), I feel more than interested and invested in showing what the immigrant (especially the Latino one) community is doing to make Connecticut the great, safe, welcoming and incredible place it is.

• My upcoming post (after this newsletter) has everything to do with how amazing October and fall is in Connecticut, so apart from the things that have been posted before, you will not see anything about it in this newsletter until the December one. I am sorry, but if photography was my full-time work you would be getting at least three posts a week and a Newsletter on a monthly basis.
